All About Don
OK... so this is the part where I tell you all about me, and you pretend like you care!
I'm from a very small town in Ohio, otherwise known as Fort Recovery. I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Technology in 2003, and proceeded to move back home and live with my parents (Every college grad's dream...) to work a full time job as a Network Administrator at 8th Floor Promotions (Formerly Visions Manufacturing). On June 18, 2005 I got married to Laura Harris, whom I met at Ball State my sophomore year... feel free to check out pictures of my proposal. Laura then got a job as a Residence Director at Western Carolina University, so we moved down to North Carolina after the wedding. After working a few small jobs, I finally found one as a web programmer at an Internet Service Provider called Dnet. During this time I also started up a little web business with a friend of mine from Ohio... ReliantWeb Ltd. After 2 years of North Carolina, we decided to move back to Ohio. Laura got a job at University Park Apartments at the University of Cincinnati, and I got a job at Tracker Products, just across the river. I was laid off from Tracker Products in April, did freelancing for a while before getting a part time job at Cybervise Limited. About a year after being laid off, I finally got another full time job at Map Your Show... and that's where the story ends.
Hmmmm... I play the piano, usually just for fun, but I have played for private parties, recitals, weddings, restaurants, choirs, musicals, and a few other events. I was also the keyboard player for the #1 band in Mercer County, known as JayAre, for 4 years, and am currently playing keys for Stays In Vegas. Two of my most memorable performances were in 2000 when I performed on stage with Ben Folds Five, and in 2001 when I performed with the Ball State University Singers in Washington DC at the Pentagon and the East Room of the White House for the Official White House Christmas Party.
I love live music! I go to concerts as often as possible (I think I've seen over 100 groups live). A few of my favorites are Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five, Guster, Cake, Gomez, the Argument/Scott Simons, Ingram Hill, and Flogging Molly. Groups I have performed with include Ben Folds Five and Kenny Rogers, and I've also been invited to jam with Guster and Rich Hardesty sometime.
Well, that's about all I have for you right now, but if you have any questions or comments please email me.
