Pretty crazy weekend. I guess it started Thursday night. 3 guys "broke" into an apartment here (The building we live in... the one that Laura manages), held the people inside up at gun point, and stole their stuff. After they left, for some reason, the people in the room ran outside and chased the robbers down, one of them got tackled, and the tackler got shot. Right outside our window. He just got shot in the leg, so he's fine, and the rest of the people held the shooter down, so the police got him. They know who the other 2 robbers are, 1 of them turned himself in today, the other one is still on the loose. Laura and her co-workers had a pretty busy Friday doing damage control, and dealing with the police and media. That ran into this weekend. Apparently the room that got broken into has been dealing drugs... so they must have given somebody a bad batch or something. I dunno... the whole thing sounds pretty fishy to me. If someone came into my apartment with a gun, robbed me while pointing a gun at my head... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't chase after them. I'd call the cops, and deal with the loss of my laptop. Also... the reason they got into the apartment, was because the idiots that live there keep their door deadbolted open 24/7. The doors automatically lock... so they stuck out the deadbolt, so it holds the door open. They haven't locked their door all year. I swear, college students are getting dumber and dumber each year
Then Saturday, I hung out with some friends all day. Went to a sports bar to watch the Kentucky/North Carolina basketball game... then home for a few more drinks... then to another sports bar for the Oklahoma/Mizzou and West Virginia/Pitt football games... oh man, was that crazy! Great night! I am kind of worried about Ohio State playing LSU in the title game... but we'll see what happens. Whatever the outcome... just getting to the title game makes it a good freakin year, seeing as how this was their "rebuilding year" =)
